WHAT ARE WORM CASTINGS?
Worm castings are the remnants left behind by earthworms as the decompose organic material. They are an excellent addition to any garden practice, and can be used in a variety of gardening methods.
Worm castings are a great way to give any plant a boost. They are odorless, chemical free, and you cannot over-fertilize your plants with them.
HOW TO USE:
VEGETABLES:
Mix 1/2 cup of worm castings into the soil for smaller vegetable plants, or 1 cup for larger plants like tomatoes or peppers. Add water to soil.
POTTED PLANTS:
Apply 1/4 cup of worm castings on top of the soil every 2-3 months. Add water to soil.
FLOWERS:
Apply 1/4 cup of worm castings per month on top of the soil around the base of the flowers. Lightly mix the castings into the top inch of soil and water in.
LAWNS:
Apply 15 pounds of worm castings per 100 square feet. Apply this amount twice a year. Spread evenly over the lawn and lightly rake into the top layer of soil or grass.
TREES:
Use 2 pounds of worm castings per inch of trunk diameter. Apply this amount twice a year. Spread the castings evenly around the base of the tree, extending to the drip line, and lightly work them into the top layer of soil.
